All the staff and residents at Cardinal Place have received the first dose of COVID19 vaccine
Cardinal Place featured on CBC News Windsor in a segment about the roll-out of the COVID19 vaccine in retirement homes across the region.
All the staff and residents at Cardinal Place have received the first dose of either the Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
"This is a huge sigh of relief," said the owner of Cardinal Place, Mike Cardinal.
It's been rough on residents who haven't been able to see their loved ones. CNC interviewed resident Jeannette Reeves who was glad to get the vaccine. "We were all excited," she said. "It's been such a terrible year for everyone."
Jeannette can hardly wait for the general public to be vaccinated. "I have a granddaughter who I just love to death and I just haven't been able to see her. She can come and just look through the glass".
The hope is that in time, they can finally hug once again.
The first round of vaccinations is expected to be completed by the 19th January with the second round beginning on 29th January.
